The managing director of a luxury Aberdeen barbers is preparing to take part in London Fashion Week next month after being headhunted by leading industry professionals.

Kyle Ross, who launched Huntsman in the city’s west end last year, will be working as part of the Toni and Guy Label.M session team.

The 27-year-old has also been hired to educate for Toni and Guy throughout the year as well as working at the prestigious event from January 6 to 8.

The news follows his recent win at the Scottish Hair and Beauty Awards held in Glasgow earlier this month where he came top in the Men’s Stylist of the Year category.

He was also named Best British Barber at the International Barber Awards held in Germany in November.

Huntsman has grown in size over the last 12 months, going from two members of staff to nine with 3,000 clients now on the books.

And Mr Ross, who started his career as an apprentice, said he knows the importance of supporting future talent.

As a result he employed barber Marc Cran, who trained in the profession after being made redundant from the oil and gas industry.

The company also provides in-house training for two apprentices who are working towards level 2 SVQ qualifications, and provides numerous training opportunities for staff including days away with top names in the industry.

Mr Ross said: “I am extremely passionate about my business, and I am dedicated to ensuring it is a success.

“You usually have to audition to become part of the session team for London Fashion Week, and I feel really privileged to have been headhunted for the event.

“Hunstman’s first year in business has been fantastic, and winning the awards proves all my hard work has been worth it, and thanks my dedicated staff and customers for joining me on my journey.

“I look forward to many more exciting times in 2018.”

Huntsman offers a wide range of services for the modern day man, including everything from precision cutting, hot towel shaving, beard trimming and styling, to massage treatments and waxing.

It also provides in-depth consultations to its customers, which allows them to decide on the cut and style that will best suit their face shape and hair type.

London Fashion Week is a four-day event which is held at a venue on The Strand. It is the only event that gives direct access to the industry to experience the best of British and international fashion including a showcase of designer and trend catwalks shows, designer shopping and industry talks. The event is supported by some of the country’s best hairdressers and makeup artists.
