ARK Estates is on the hunt for businesses to lease two brand-new shops in the heart of old Inverness.

The entire building on Academy Street has been created by ARK, along with sister company William Gray Construction, and will be a mix of shops and flats.

Willie Gray, managing director of the Inverness-based builders, said he was delighted with the new building that has risen on the city centre site.

He commented: “This is a welcome step forward in the regeneration of this part of the old town.

“Many have commented on how handsome the building looks and we’re proud to have created new homes and shops which will help create a more vibrant feel to this part of the city.”

William Gray Construction and Ark Estates won planning permission last year to demolish the existing B-listed office building and replace it with the proposed development, which is made up of 31 flats and two shops.

A big part of the site is the retail units, which are currently available for lease through Graham and Sibbald Chartered Surveyors.

The premises will be completed at the end of November, in time for any tenants to open before Christmas and are available to view now.

Andrew Rose at Graham and Sibbald said: “They are of interest to prospective tenants at the moment due to the quality of the development and great position on Academy Street. “

He added: “The two retail units – each approximately 613 sq ft and finished to a high standard – would be suitable for a variety of tenants and businesses new and established have been encouraged to view the properties.”
