Aberdeen nanny heads to the capital

An Aberdeen-based nanny agency is branching out to new territory after a successful first two years in operation.

Tinies Aberdeen has acquired the Edinburgh territory of the UK-wide company and will now provide services across Perth, Stirling, Edinburgh, Fife and the Borders.

The franchise, which previously only operated within Aberdeen, Dundee, Inverness and the Highlands, has taken the strategic step to increase the size of its catchment area after a successful 2013 which saw it named the fastest growing branch out of a total of 32 across the UK.

The company has also reported a second year turnover of £110,000 and is targeting an annual turnover of £250,000 within the next two years.

Owner Angela Cowie is delighted with the expansion and believes the growth is a result of an increase in demand for nannies and babysitters across the country.

She said: “Throughout our first two years of operating within the north and north-east of Scotland, we’ve seen a considerable appetite for nannies and babysitters and with more and more parents both working, we believe that this is only set to grow further over the coming months and year.

“Moving into Edinburgh is the next logical step of growth for the company as we look to tap into the buoyant business and tourism sectors within this area. We’ve seen an uptake from families visiting specific cities on business with their children and we can help provide suitable care whilst the parent works. We also specialise in the provision of event nannies and we really can tailor our service to an individual’s specific requirements.”

“Once we have our Edinburgh office established, we plan to add to our workforce across the board in response to an increase in demand for our services. We were delighted to win the fastest growing branch award which is testament to the hard work the team in Aberdeen has put in over the last two years and it really has provided the perfect platform upon which to launch this exciting new chapter for the company.”

Tinies is the UK’s leading childcare company and nanny agency network. Established nearly 40 years ago, the company recruits all kinds of child carers, including nannies, mothers’ helps, babysitters, maternity nurses and more, for families both in the UK and overseas.
