Charlie Charlesworth at home in Lossiemouth hotseat

Charlie Charlesworth has stepped down at Huntly.

Charlie Charlesworth feels he is coming home after returning to Lossiemouth for a second spell in charge.

Charlesworth, 51, who lives less than 200yards from Lossie’s ground, has agreed to succeed Stevie Dunn and return to Grant Park, where he managed previously from 2008 to 2012.

The former Deveronvale manager, who resigned from the Banff club in September, said: “It is nice to be going back to Lossie and hopefully the squad will be equally excited to have a new manager in place.

“I watched Wednesday’s game against Fraserburgh which the Broch won 6-5 with four late goals.

“Lossie have a lot of youngsters with fire and spirit and I was very impressed with their attitude on the night, although they were just a little bit naive and should have put on the brakes a bit when they went 5-2 up.”

Coasters chairman Royce Clark said: “I’m delighted Charlie has agreed to come back home.

“Hopefully, this appointment of an experienced Highland League manager shows the club has real ambition and, given the young talented squad he inherits, I am confident the club will move forward.

“From day one Charlie was my number one target, although we had some very good applications from within the Highland League.

“I will support him in any way I can, strengthening the squad and continuing to invest in our youth set-up which is now starting to show results, producing young local talent with the likes of Scott Gordon and Jordan McBain coming through into the first-team squad this season.”
