Aberdeen Business School at Robert Gordon University is hosting World Quality Day on Thursday, November 13, in collaboration with the Chartered Quality Institute and AMEC, one of the world’s leading engineering, project management and consultancy companies.

There will be presentations from key speakers in industry, designed to help raise awareness of quality as part of the CQI’s focus on encouraging individual development and improvement in the efficiency and productivity of organisations.

This year the theme, “Building a Quality World Together”, focuses on the contribution of quality management professionals to the strategic growth of business with the overall aim of inspiring students to pursue quality as a professional career path, and to raise the profile of quality management within the Aberdeen business region.

Scheduled speakers include Steve Wright, co-founder of Performance Improvements (PI) Group and CEO of Benncon Ltd, and David Millar, business improvement manager at Wood Group PSN

Lowellyne James, ABS Quality Management lecturer and the vice-chairman of the CQI North of Scotland Branch, said: “The day will highlight how important it is for organisations to embrace quality. Through Aberdeen Business School’s continued collaboration with the CQI and AMEC, we are putting quality back into the heart of business education.”

Aberdeen Business School has successfully delivered an MSc in quality management accredited by the Chartered Quality Institute (CQI) for over a decade. This relationship evolved into a working partnership with the CQI North of Scotland Branch through the establishment of a steering committee in 2012.

The World Quality Day event runs at the ABS Garthdee campus from 2pm to 4pm on Thursday, November 13. A CQI information desk will be available at the RGU Riverside East atrium.
