Tenor superstar Andrea Bocelli will make his Inverness debut later this week.
From when and where he’ll perform to who’ll support him in the Highlands, here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming concert.
When and where will Andrea Bocelli perform?
Andrea Bocelli will perform at Caledonian Stadium at 7pm on Friday July 1.
The Italian opera legend said: “It will be more than a concert: it will represent a personal joy for me, an important debut of my mature career. It will give me the huge privilege to take my voice to one of the most fascinating places on earth, full of history, beauty and poetry.
“After this long and difficult time that has shaken all of humanity, going back to the UK will be incredibly emotional: the returning sunshine after the storm. As in the words of the popular ballad, I already feel like: ‘My heart’s in the Highlands’!”
Andrea Bocelli won’t be the only musician making his Inverness debut in July. Duran Duran will also play Caledonian Stadium – the new wave band will take to the stage at 3pm on Saturday July 2.
What is Andrea Bocelli best known for?
Andrea Bocelli is an Italian operatic tenor and multi-instrumentalist. He was born visually impaired and became blind at the age of 12.
Beginning his career in 1994, Bocelli has recorded 15 solo studio albums of both pop and classical music, selling more than 75 million records worldwide.
Celine Dion once famously said: “If God would have a singing voice, he would sound a lot like Andrea Bocelli.”
Which tunes will be performed?
The musician’s set will undoubtedly feature operatic masterpieces as well as songs from his newest album Believe which was released in 2020.
How do I get to the venue?
Caledonian Stadium is located in East Longman in Inverness.
By car
Football Ground Guide recommends: Continue on the A9 through Inverness and at the roundabout, just before the large Kessock Bridge that takes you across the Moray Firth, turn right for the road down to the stadium.
By train and bus
Inverness Railway Station is about a 30-minute walk (1,5 miles) from the venue. Stagecoach buses 25 and X25 – departing from Inverness Bus Station (a 4-minute walk from the train station) – can get you to Seafield Road. From there, it’s a 12-minute walk to the stadium.

Who’s the support act?
Scotland’s classical superstar Nicola Benedetti will join Andrea Bocelli as a special guest when the acclaimed tenor performs his first concert in the Highlands.
The award-winning musician is one of the most sought-after violinists of her generation. An advocate for classical music, Nicola is known for her ability to captivate audiences of all ages.
