Sir Elton John: One year to go and here’s everything you need to know about his Aberdeen shows at P&J Live

It’s one year to the day until Sir Elton John brings his Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour to Aberdeen’s P&J Live.

Arriving in the city for two performances, the international music star will take to the stage at the state-of-the-art entertainment venue on Friday November 20 and Saturday November 21 next year.

The three-year-long world wide tour will see Sir Elton perform more than 300 shows and will shine a light on his impressive career which spans across 50 years.

Sir Elton will perform some of his biggest numbers to date including Rocket Man, Your Song, Are You Ready For Love? and I’m Still Standing, as well as hits from his film Rocketman.

To help out those heading along to the gig, or thinking of buying tickets, we’ve pulled together a helpful guide on what you need to know about the shows and the venue.

How do I get there and home?

P&J Live is a 15 minute walk from Aberdeen International Airport and Dyce Train Station. Stagecoach PJ1 will have services running through the event complex daily. For more on the service, click here.

It is also situated just six miles north-west of the city centre and can be reached via the A96 Aberdeen to Inverness road. The Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route is also now open and can be accessed from locations across the north-east. Taxi’s will also be able to drop off at the complex, and a park and ride service will also be in operation from Kingswells, Bridge of Don and Craibstone.

Will there be any road closures ahead of the event for those taking their own cars?

There are no scheduled road closures ahead of the show.

What about parking at P&J Live?

2,500 parking spaces will be available at the venue, pricing for parking can be found here.

What about security?

Bags will be searched on entry to the event. Backpacks, large bags (including shopping bags over 40cm x 35cm x 19cm) and handbags that can be worn like backpacks are not permitted into the event. Only bring essential items and keep belongings to a minimum.

Will alcohol and food be available?

There will be lots of catering options available for customers to enjoy within the venue throughout the evening. VIP upgrades will also be available including the restaurant experience at P&J Live. Drinks cannot be brought along to the event.

Are there any age limits?

Seated/standing: No under 14’s in standing. Under 14’s must be accompanied by an adult (18+).
