HRN Tractors appointed new Scottish dealer for Kubota

Kubota says the appointment of HRN Tractors reinforces its commitment to customers.
Kubota says the appointment of HRN Tractors reinforces its commitment to customers.

Kubota has appointed HRN Tractors as its new dealer for Scotland.

Insch-based HRN Tractors, which also has depots in Turriff, Kinloss, Muir of Ord, Caithness and Balbeggie in Perthshire, will represent Kubota construction equipment for all of Scotland.

The company will also supply Kubota agricultural products in depots north of Perth, and groundcare and professional turf products north of Dundee.

“This appointment reinforces Kubota’s commitment to its customers and the market,” said David Hart, managing director for Kubota UK.

“As a full-line dealer, HRN Tractors will be in a strong position to make the future investments required in facilities, technology and staff, to actively support our customers across agricultural, groundcare and construction sectors.”

HRN’s dealer principal, Hamish Bruce, welcomed the move and said the company was delighted to gain the Kubota franchise.

He said: “It supplies us with a wide range of agricultural, construction and groundcare products to sell to our growing customer base. We believe Kubota has massive potential for market growth in Scotland.”

The move will see HRN take over the Kubota dealership from a number of businesses including Banff-based CC Powell Ltd.

It also follows a move by John Deere to cease its partnership with HRN Tractors at the end of October, and award its franchise for the north of Scotland to Netherton Tractors.

Meanwhile, Kubota has also ended its Kverneland franchise with Netherton.

In a statement,  Netherton said it was disappointed to lose the Kverneland franchise, but the firm added: “It is another part of the exciting chapter in our history where we will now be actively looking for new franchises to fill this gap and join us at our existing depots and in our expansion across the Perthshire, Turriff and Nairn areas.”
