Following a tough competition, The Victorian Market has selected a winner for its 2020 calendar.

The Victorian Market is delighted to announce that the winner of the recent Life Through a Lens photography competition is Gordon Doherty.

The winning image will be printed on the back page of every 2020 Victorian Market Calendar, but here is a wee sneak peek of the winning entry:

The competition was launched to celebrate 150 years of The Victorian Market by finding 12 images that capture the essence of The Victorian Market, Inverness and its immediate surroundings.

Open to all ages and abilities, the competition was fierce with some excellent images entered.

After tough deliberation, the images selected for the calendar came from Del Shiel, Andrew Nicholson, Donald Ross, Sasha Ross, Gordon Doherty, Hamish and Anne Jack, Mhairi Jarvie, Gordon Corrance and Colin Macdonald.

You can now see all of the images entered at The Victorian Market. Pop by and visit the Life Through a Lens unit in the market hall, then look through the lenses to see the competition entries.

The calendars are also now for sale in The Victorian Market, costing only £5 each.

Half of the proceeds of the calendars will be donated to local charities, with Spokes for Folks and Safe, Strong and Free benefitting.

Calendars are exclusively available in The Victorian Market in Inverness, so head down today and pick up your copy for only £5.

While you are there, enjoy shopping at all of the local, independent businesses.

Why not stop for a cake or coffee and watch the world go by, or enjoy some me time in one of the many hair, nail and beauty salons?
