It charts decades of social change and upheaval, from the north of Scotland to Tasmania, all through the unifying lens of one extraordinary family.

It was written by Reay Clarke, one of the Clarkes of Eriboll, a dynasty of Sutherland sheep-farmers.

There are many lessons to be learned from it, historical and contemporary, for academics, policy-makers and those who live on the land today.
