Local charity shop gets elegant make over

Glam up your wardrobe this summer without breaking the bank!

A local charity shop has been given a make over, after being gifted 50 glamorous prom dresses from an Aberdeenshire bridal shop earlier this month.

Chest, Heart and Stroke Scotland received the dresses after the bridal shop expanded their bridesmaid department and no longer had the storage space to keep them.

Yvette Jeffrey, retail manager at CHSS said: “We are thrilled to have received these fabulous dresses. I’d like to extend my thanks for such a generous donation.

“The dresses are all beautifully detailed and come in a range of styles and colours so there is sure to be a style to match everyone’s taste! We have a few of them on display but please pop in to the store and ask our friendly staff and volunteers to show you the rest of the stock. This is truly a case of designer fashion at low prices!”

The charity does extensive research into prevention, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and the social impact of chest, heart and stroke illnesses, as well as providing care and support to those suffering, their families and carers.

Owner of Blush Bridal in Fraserburgh Diane Stephen said: “When we opened three years ago we stocked bride, bridesmaid and prom dresses, but since we’ve expanded we have no room for the prom dresses anymore.”

In a post to the bridal shop’s Facebook page, the company said that the charity is one “very close to our hearts” and wished the charity shop the best of luck with the selling of the dresses.

Ms. Stephen said: “The dresses are new and in perfect condition. Anyone who is interested, please go down to the shop and try them on.”
