Buildings in Aberdeen are being transformed as part of the city’s first international street art festival.
For the duration of April, acclaimed artists will use buildings and walls as their canvas. They will create vivid and thought-provoking art.
Locations include Market Street and Queen Street, Harriet Street and Guestrow, with some of the works already taking shape.
The programme includes the public opening at The Green on Saturday, from 11am to 1pm, walking tours, street printing, the UK premier of the film Saving Banksy and an Easter Sunday street art hunt.
Aberdeen Inspired has brought the organisers of Nuart Festival in Stavanger to Aberdeen to deliver their first overseas version of the festival. Held in the Norwegian city since 2001 and widely regarded as the world’s leading celebration of street art, the event in Aberdeen is supported by main sponsor Burness Paull LLP and Aberdeen City Council.
Street artists Fintan Magee, Nipper, Add Fuel, M-City, Alice Pasquini, Jaune, Isaac Cordal, Martin Whatson, Herakut, Julien de Casabianca and Robert Montgomery will take part in the inaugural artistic event from April 14 to 16, which is the first of its kind in the UK.
