All around the north-east, people will be celebrating the New Year. But with the huge range of events going on, where are you going to choose for the big moment?
Lots of hotels and restaurants will be holding their own events which you can buy tickets for. Head to the website or Facebook pages of your favourite haunts to see how they are celebrating.
STONEHAVEN FIREBALLS
The coastal community have their own unique way to herald in the New Year with friends and visitors. As the countdown to midnight begins, around 40 men and women parade down the High Street swinging balls of flames over their heads. A completely different way to celebrate New Year than the usual party, visitors will not be disappointed as there is still a host of entertainment starting from 11pm. Taking place on December 31, the fireballs speed out the old year and herald in the new in ancient style. Be warned though, the night is very popular and can get quite busy, so make sure you arrive in plenty of time.
ABERDEEN BEACH BALLROOM
Step back in time and celebrate in the historic surrounds of the art deco ballroom. Enjoy a traditional ceilidh on the sprung dancefloor and munch on stovies before clinking a glass of bubbly with your nearest and dearest to bring in the bells. Tickets are £47.50 each. Call 01224 647647.
ABERDEEN CITY
Head into Aberdeen city centre for a plethora of live music and fun. From 8.45pm to 12.15am, crowds will gather on Schoolhill for the free event to bring in the bells at the open air stage.
Entertaining the street party is the Mersey Beatles and The Banjo Lounge 4 before a fireworks display from the rooftop of HM Theatre celebrates the New Year.
The Banjo Lounge 4 are an Edinburgh-based mash-up band who will get the party started with their Bluegrass-funk-style music. With a five-string banjo, acoustic guitar, double bass, stripped-down drum kit and four vocalists, their set will be fun and imaginative.
All born in Liverpool, The Mersey Beatles have been making music since 1999, recreating the sights and sounds of the Beatles in their authentic tribute.
All the fun rounds off with a spectacular fireworks display from the roof of the historic theatre. Some of the best spots are hinted to be Union Bridge, Union Terrace and Schoolhill to get a great view.

ABERDEEN TIVOLI
Celebrate the New Year from the surroundings of the Grade A listed auditorium of the historic Tivoli Theatre.
The beautifully restored building is just steps from Union Square and its car park and transport links, so is nice and easy to get to.
Founded in 1872, the theatre fell into disuse in 1997 but it has been recently restored for the public to enjoy once again, and what better way to celebrate the beautiful building than a great show.
Filled with traditional Scottish music, dance and comedy, A Hogmanay Show kicks off at 7.30pm and rounds up at 9.45pm in time for you to head home or to the pub to bring in the bells. Tickets are £25. See www.thetivolitheatre.com/what-s-on.html
ELLON
Gig At The Brig will see Scotland’s favourite bag-rock group the Red Hot Chilli Pipers headline the event.
The event will kick off at 8pm and will round off at 1am after the bells. Also joining the pipers will be Silver City Soul Revue, a 10-piece soul band from Aberdeen; Destination, who are a local Ellon electronic group; and Black Tiles, an Aberdonian indie rock band.

PETERHEAD
Take the whole family along to the Hogmanay Hoolie at Balmoor Stadium.
The kiddies disco from 6pm to 7pm will give the little ones a bit of fun while parents ready themselves for a night out. The older ones aren’t left out with the junior disco from 7pm to 9pm.
Then the fun really starts with the adult disco from 9pm with a buffet and a glass of fizz for bringing in the bells.
Tickets are available from Balmoor stadium and start at £45 per adult and family tickets are available.
