A London-based theatre group is teaming up with the city council to run a workshop for people who work with dementia patients.
The sold-out workshop, run by Spare Tyre, will see artists and carers instructed in how to use creativity while working with those suffering from the condition.
Participants will work together to create an imaginary garden which will appeal to all their senses. The interactive show previously toured care homes in Aberdeen in 2015 as part of the Creative Ageing festival.
The theatre group has been part-funded by a grant from the city council, and the performance organised in conjunction with Aberdeen’s Creative Ageing Network.
Margaret Stewart, from the council, said: “These sessions illustrate to care staff how achievable it is to transform an environment with sound, light, touch and smell.”
The event will take place on Tuesday, April 11 at His Majesty’s Theatre.
