Admiring this gorgeous family home in Kingswells, Aberdeen, it’s hard to imagine why the current owners are leaving.
With a stunning interior design, plenty of room and in a great residential location, it’s the kind of house that dream homes are based on.
So why is it on the market?
The Tafazolly family moved into the three-bedroom home in December 2009. And although they love their home, which is available for a fixed price of £335,000, with a second child on the way, they are looking for a little bit of extra space.
“We are hoping to move into town, or be close to the city,” said Mo, 34, an engineering manager in the oil and gas industry.
“My wife Zahra is expecting her second child in May so we are hoping to buy and sell before then.
“We need one more bedroom, that’s the only reason we are moving as the house is really good for us.
“Zahra’s parents will be staying with us for a few months to help us with the baby so we need a bit more space.”
Mo, Zahra, 35, who also works in oil and gas, and their 12-year-old son Ilia correct moved to Kingswells from the Ferryhill area of Aberdeen.
They were looking for a place with a garden and space for Ilia to play in.
Not only did the family find a home with a great garden with a lawn and patio area, they also appreciate the neighbourhood and the house’s closeness to much-needed amenities.
“The neighbourhood is quiet and it’s located on top of the hill and it’s the most private plot on the street,” said Mo.
“There’s no one looking over the garden or the back living room.
“The house is next to a big field so the children can play there in the summer.
“The neighbours are lovely and we have good people around us.
“It’s also only a two-minute walk to the Co-op, the medical centre and the primary school. It’s really well located.”
Looking inside the house, it’s clear this is a home that has had a lot of attention paid to it over the years.
When Mo and Zahra first moved in, they put a lot of effort into making it their own and their hard work has definitely paid off.
“We changed everything,” said Mo.
“In terms of the work, we took off the old flooring and carpets and we also took out the underlay and replaced it and put down wooden flooring in the lounge.
“We also put new flooring in the hallway, on the staircase and landing and put black marble tiles in the kitchen.
“We changed the bathrooms downstairs and the shower room upstairs.
“We made the downstairs bedroom into a second lounge and put up new wallpaper and painted all the walls in the house and re-plastered the ceilings.
“We also put mirrors on the doors of the wardrobes upstairs.”
The finished look is absolutely fantastic and the home oozes sophistication throughout.
Styled in bright, neutral tones the home is in a ready-to-move in condition, a factor many house hunters will find appealing.
“2010 was a very busy year,” recalled Mo.
“We did it in stages but the main parts, which were the bathrooms, walls, ceiling and flooring were done relatively quickly in about two to three months.
“It looks very nice so we are hoping someone else will like it.
“We like the lounge and the dining area and the downstairs bedroom which we use as a living room.
“The colours look really nice and it has french doors leading out to the back garden.”
When the time comes for the family to move, Mo said they will miss the location and neighbours.
“We also spent a lot of time on the house to make it look good.
“It’s very homey and it’s unfortunate that we have to move.”
