Albyn Housing Society tenants in Grantown on Spey are benefiting from brand-new homes after the society took hand-over of four two-bedroom cottage apartments in the village.
Purchased upon completion from Colin Lawson Builders, the Market Court development has provided four households with newer, greener and cheaper to run accommodation.
The development represents an investment of almost £500,000 by the Highland-wide registered social landlord. To support costs, the Society was able to secure £80,000 in funding from the Scottish Government.
Calum Macaulay, chief executive at Albyn Housing Society, said:
“The Society has plans to deliver an ambitious new-build programme throughout the Highlands over the coming five years, enabling us to bring more modern and energy-efficient homes to a large number of communities.
“This latest investment in Grantown on Spey will provide existing tenants with greatly improved accommodation whilst also adding to the community’s long-term affordable housing provision.”
