Plots on Luing
Plots on Luing

There’s a chance to purchase a piece of land that commands stunning, uninterrupted sea views in one of the prettiest places in Scotland.

Two serviced plots of land are being sold on the delightful Inner Hebridean Island of Luing – a third has already been snapped up and is being developed.

With a guide price of £190,000, plots two and three are on the edge of the picturesque conservation village of Cullipool only yards from the shore. As one of the famous slate isles, Luing slate was quarried until the 1960s, much of it coming from Cullipool.

Plot number two (0.24 acres) enjoys uninterrupted sea views to the west across the Sound of Luing to The Garvellachs, Scarba and the island of Mull while plot number three (0.41 acres) lies to the east
of plot two but also enjoys a westerly aspect and far-reaching sea views. Both plot sites have been levelled ready for development and are being
offered with full planning permission for architect designed houses.

The vibrant Island of Luing, which has a population of approximately 185, is probably the most accessible of all the Western Isles.

A car ferry service operates every 30 minutes taking less than five minutes to cross the Cuan Sound which connects Luing to Seil and the mainland. Amenities on Luing include a shop, post office, primary school and church.

The island offers excellent walking, fishing and sailing and is a haven for wildlife.

In the centre of Cullipool, the village hall regularly hosts events for locals and visitors, including ceilidhs, concerts and plays and the new heritage centre with its popular café and museum also provides an attractive venue for a wide choice of activities.

On the outskirts of the village, the shoreline offers an ideal launch point for a tender and the option exists for moorings close by through the Luing Mooring Association. Further services and amenities to be found on the neighbouring island of Seil include a shop, medical practice and nine-hole golf course.
