Skene HotelSuites recently recognised the commitment shown by three key members of staff as they retired from the company.
Bob Taylor who joined as an upholsterer 10 years ago, Sandra Munro, originally from Lewis who joined 20 years ago and retires from her post as breakfast supervisor at Holburn and Brian Reid who retires after an exceptional forty years in Property Services.

As a family business established in 1978, loyalty and long service are at the heart of the Skene HotelSuites ethos.
Mr Charles Skene, founder and Chairman of the HotelSuites said he was proud the group has over 20 members of staff who have built careers of more than 10 years long within the organisation, believing that long service is key to a quality offering.

He said: “We are first and foremost a family business, as my own three children work for the company, in fact many of our staff have had their own children join us to work alongside them.
“I fully understand the concept of loyalty to your staff and we have been fortunate in receiving the same respect in return.
“This has resulted in us being able to give a continuously first class service to our clients, which is proven by the fact that in Aberdeen, Skene House Whitehall has been voted number one on Tripadvisor every year for the last three years.”

Skene House HotelSuites was established nearly 40 years ago to service the incoming oil related families and personnel and was the first in Britain to offer one to three bedroom apartments with hotel services from one night to one year.
It also owns and runs the luxury Inchmarlo Retirement Village on Royal Deeside.

For Charles Skene, one of Aberdeen’s most notable entrepreneurs and Visiting Professor at the Robert Gordon University, staff loyalty sets Skene HotelSuites apart.

He added: “Traditionally the hospitality industry has a high churn rate, but the fact that we buck that trend is a definite advantage in terms of returning business, but above all makes me exceptionally proud.”
