Mini’s new John Cooper Works Countryman is available now and is priced from £30,675.

Powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, the 228bhp JCW Countryman is capable of hitting 60mph in just 6.4 seconds, and will hit a top speed of 145mph.

There’s a choice of either a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission, with both feeding power to all four wheels.

The John Cooper Works package adds 18-inch alloy wheels, lowered sports suspension and a full Brembo sports brake system.

Mechanical modifications include a full sports exhaust system, which features tapered chrome covers and an adjustable flap, allowing drivers to choose between a louder exhaust note or a quieter one.
Five sports seats with integrated headrests have been fitted inside the car, along with a gear selector and roof liner trimmed in alcantara.
There’s a huge amount of equipment included as standard, too, with features such as LED headlamps, cruise control and a 6.5in colour display included in the Countryman’s list price.

The screen allows drivers to control various infotainment functions such as satellite navigation and media. A new function available on the new Countryman is Mini Find Mate.

This service uses wireless tracking to allow drivers to track and locate objects through the Mini connected system.

However, the John Cooper Works Countryman remains practical, and is able to offer 450 litres of boot space with the rear seats raised, and 1,390 litres with them lowered.
