This weekend, the new P&J Live arena is being transformed into a car-lovers’ paradise thanks to the arrival of the Aberdeen Performance Car Show.

Not only is the inaugural event the largest of its kind in Scotland, it is also the only indoor static car show in the north of Scotland.

Taking place this Sunday, the exhibition will display some of the very best race, rally, drift and modified street cars around.

Alongside these will be a selection of rare supercars and high-end sports cars, meaning there is something for every motoring enthusiast to see.

“The last few weeks have been really busy organising the finer details of the event, but we can’t wait to see it all come together,” said James Stephen, the show’s director.

“We have had great success with similar events in the central belt and are excited to be filling a gap in the market in the north of Scotland with our first event up here.

“There has been a great response so far and we’ve got some very special cars coming from as far away as Ireland and Manchester, as well as from people just half a mile down the road.”

Though the event is mostly based around modern performance vehicles, the show also features a section dedicated to heritage classics, including immaculate Minis and Jaguars.

“On the day there will be more than 800 cars on display,” James said.

“With different halls and areas for visitors to wander through, they can see everything from a unique McLaren F1 car to someone’s very first attempt at modifying.”

Also included with the ticket price is an impressive BMX stunt show from cycle stunt team The Clan.

More than 25 trade stalls will also be in attendance offering everything from parts and advice, to insurance and paint specialists, while all the usual P&J Live catering outlets will be open to feed the crowds.

On-site visitor parking is available, while a free bus service will be operating from Dyce park and ride to the door of P&J Live.

The Aberdeen Performance Car Show takes place on Sunday from 9.30am to 5pm. Tickets cost £15.
