This year's Groove Loch Ness will be headlined by Faithless

A set by dance stars Faithless will headline the third Groove Loch Ness festival later this year.

The event held on the banks of the world famous loch is known as the “Nightclub Under the Stars”.

It will be held this year on August 19.

The organisers revealed the initial line-up last night – including confirming a DJ set by Faithless to close the festival.

The dance act are best known for their 1995 hit Insomnia.

Also confirmed for the bill is Skream, aka Ollie Jones, an influential performer in the dubstep genre and and had a hit last year with You Know, Right?.

Other acts include Bristol’s Julio Bashmore, Theo Kottis and Kidnap Kid

Rounding off the initial line up are local contingent of performers going under the Out/Dores DJ’s featuring a number of talents from the Highland club scene.

Festival organiser Caroline Campbell said: “We are delighted to be returning to Loch Ness for our third outing of Groove this August.

“We are working on a few surprises for the site this year and can’t wait to bring back the nightclub under the stars to this stunning location.

“We are thrilled with our initial line-up and look forward to unveiling more details over the coming months.”

Tickets are now sale from the festival’s website.

Physical tickets will become available in the near future.

Tickets have been kept at 2016 prices of £55 for a day ticket and £20 for a camping pass.

In the last two years the festival has sold out its 2,500 capacity.

Previous acts to have appeared include Leftfield and Groove Armada.

The event was set-up by a number of people from the north music scene, including organisers of the Belladrum Festival and the Ironworks venue in Inverness.

It is held on the same site at Dores which formerly hosted RockNess, which was last held in 2013.
