Ullapool will be filled with the sound of music once more this weekend, this time courtesy of hundreds of guitars.
The 15th annual Ullapool Guitar Festival runs from Friday, October 3, until Sunday, October 5, with daytime events taking place in the Macphail Centre and a late-night festival club in the Arch Inn on the town’s Shore Street.
The programme has five concerts, plus a variety of workshops and a trade show.
Friday night’s lineup features Wingin’ It (Adam Bulley and Chaz Mackenzie) and Lulo Reinhardt Latin Swing Project, with hosts the Remi Harris Trio, at the Festival Club.
Saturday’s programme includes workshops, a screening of the film Harlem Street Singer with Woody Mann, and students from Berklee College of Music, Boston USA; Brigitte DeMeyer with Pat Bergeson, Clive Carroll, and the John Goldie Band with Hugh Burns.
There are workshops with tutors Hugh Burns, Will McNicol, Clive Carroll, Tristan Seume and John Goldie on Sunday morning and, from noon, music from Allan Neave and students from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Sean Shibe and the inaugural performance of a new piece for four guitars commissioned by the festival and composed by Clive Carroll.
The Carl Verheyen Band, John Jorgenson, the Webb Sisters and Alan Thomson appear in the evening while the festival club, which runs until midnight on Sunday, will be hosted by Tristan Seume.

Weekend tickets cost £150 each and give entry to all concerts, festival clubs and workshops. Alternatively, tickets may be bought at the door of each concert. Contact: www.ullapoolguitarfestival.com/wp
