Iconic Scottish band Simple Minds are to put a sparkle in Aberdeen’s pre-festive celebrations by playing a gig at Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre on Tuesday, December 1, 2015, when they will be supported by special guests The Stranglers.

Lead singer Jim Kerr said: “The Stranglers always were one of our favourite live acts. We know our audience will appreciate seeing both bands together during this arena tour.”

Simple Minds, who have had numerous hits over the years, including the anthemic 1985 smash Don’t You (Forget About Me), will visit Aberdeen as part of their Big Music Tour 2015.

Director of sales and marketing at the venue Louise Lonie said: “The Simple Minds gig is another great addition to the entertainment calendar. The band has a large Scottish fan base and I am sure they are as excited as us to welcome them back to the city. It is great to see Scottish bands choosing the GE Oil & Gas Arena to perform at. As well as Simple Minds, Texas and Wet Wet Wet also have gigs lined up at the arena.”

Tickets for the show will go on general sale on Friday, May 29, and will be available from Ticketmaster on 08444 77 9000 or online at www.ticketmaster.co.uk. The show is suitable for all ages; under-14s must be seated and accompanied by adults aged over 18.
