What: Rotary Fellowship Lunch.

Where: The Beach Ballroom, Aberdeen.

Who: More than 100 Rotarians and partners attended the lunch, with clubs from as far as Turriff, Ellon and Stonehaven being represented, as well as more local clubs.

Why: Some years ago, the Rotary Club of Aberdeen St Fittick decided to organise a social lunch in the week between Christmas and New Year when most Rotary clubs do not meet, and invited other clubs in the area to take part; thus, the Fellowship Lunch was born.

The event has become a fixture of the local Rotary calendar and a different club takes on the role of organiser each year. By chance, Aberdeen St Fittick were once again the organisers in 2015.

A pleasant lunch was followed by a light-hearted talk from Dr Andrew MacKillop, of Aberdeen University History Department, on some of the interesting facts uncovered in the Aberdeen City archives, which are the longest unbroken such records in the UK and possibly in all of northern Europe.
