Get ready to dust off your air guitars – the award-winning West End show, School of Rock – The Musical, is coming to Aberdeen.
The smash hit, created by Andrew Lloyd Webber will have its Scottish premiere at His Majesty’s Theatre from March 1 to 6 in 2021.
The new musical follows Dewey Finn, a wannabe rock star who wants to earn some extra cash by posing as a substitute teacher at a prestigious preparatory school.
Based on the hilarious hit film, he subsequently turns a class of straight-A students into a sensational rock band.
The show features 14 new songs from Mr Lloyd Webber along with all the original songs from the movie to create a show which has already been acclaimed across the world.
Aberdeen Performing Arts chief executive Jane Spiers said: “This is a really big show with bags of attitude and really great songs, 14 of which have been penned by Andrew Lloyd Webber himself.
“We can’t wait to pledge allegiance to the band and we hope you can join us to stick it to the man at HMT next March.”
Tickets go on sale on Friday, March 13, and are available from www.aberdeenperformingarts.com or visit the box office at His Majesty’s Theatre, the Music Hall or the Lemon Tree.
The show received five-star reviews on its opening nights in the New London Theatre and went on to win the Olivier Award for Outstanding Achievement in Music.
