Cornwall – England’s beautiful south

Recent trends would suggest something of a renaissance in holidays in Great Britain and if the weather is good, there’s no reason to go anywhere else.

The UK has some glorious beaches, breath-taking scenery and more fascinating history and culture than you can shake a stick of rock at.

As well as ploughing much needed cash back into Britain’s economy, there are many other great reasons to visit the UK’s stunning coastal towns this summer but I’ve discovered my new happy place…Cornwall.

For years, Cornwall has been a Great British bolthole for many of us and this is largely due to the unspoilt beauty of the area as well as the fine weather, which is fairly reliable for a British seaside holiday.

Miles of unspoilt, rugged coastline and pretty golden beaches to rival many of its Mediterranean counterparts make it an ideal destination.

In Cornwall you can have your holiday your way.

It really ticks all the boxes for a proper ‘get away from it all’ holiday yet there’s still loads to keep you occupied, especially if you have young kids in tow.

Choose from active seaside fun and frolics to long relaxing walks, admiring the stunning views or take in some of the great attractions.

Our Top Places To Visit:

1.     St Michael’s Mount

5.     Minack Theatre

A magnificent open air theatre that puts on a full programme of drama, musicals and opera every summer. Enjoy a performance under the stars!

Cornwall is packed with some fine cafes and restaurants too where you can spend lazy evenings lapping up the fresh seafood which has come straight from the fishing boats that day and of course no trip to Cornwall would be complete without sampling the world famous pasties!

You can always work off the excess calories with a swim or a brisk walk!

There are also plenty of quirky boutiques and galleries to while away an hour or two.

It’s such an easy place to just be at one with the world with no need to rush anywhere.

A lovely spot we discovered along the way is Truro. Truro is Cornwall’s only city and a delightful place to visit.

Beautiful Georgian architecture, quaint little shops, great eateries and a choice of stylish accommodation are plentiful and you really should stop by if you are in this neck of the woods.
