Firefighters were called to a house fire in Shetland last night.
Appliances from Symbister, Brae, Hillswick and Lerwick were called to the fire in Brough, on the island of Whalsay, shortly before 4pm.
A spokesman for the fire service said that the fire had been declared out at 7.10pm.
The extent of the damage to the property is not yet known, though the house had been described as “well alight” when the alarm was raised.
Firefighters used six sets of breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets, thermal image cameras and other small gear to tackle the fire.
