A man from Irvine was remanded in custody at Lerwick Sheriff Court yesterday after appearing in private accused of assault to severe injury and permanent disfigurement.
Michael Gallagher, 32, who appeared from custody, was also charged with assault to injury.
He made no plea and was committed for further examination.
