Teenage drug dealer caught on camera selling horse tranquiliser in Aberdeen nightclub

A teenage drug dealer was caught on camera selling a powerful horse tranquiliser to a girl in an Aberdeen nightclub.

Blair Campbell was arrested for selling clubbing drug Ketamine in Nox, on Justice Mill Lane, last March.

After police saw CCTV footage of the illicit transaction outside the nightspot’s toilets, a search discovered a stash of the Class B drug.

They also found messages on his phone arranging the sale of the dangerous substance, which is one of the most widely used anaesthetics in veterinary practice.

The teenager admitted being concerned in the supply of drugs between March 12 and March 30, 2018, when he appeared at Aberdeen Sheriff Court yesterday.

Fiscal depute Jade Wong said bouncers at Nox pointed out Campbell to the police at about 1am on the latter date.

She said: “They said the accused had been acting suspiciously, and police found he had two small red bags containing white powder in his wallet.

“The accused stated that this was Ketamine, and police found the bags had a combined value of £30 to £40.

“CCTV showed Campbell standing in the hallway outside the toilets speaking with an unknown female, taking some money from her and handing her a small package in return.

“He was found to have £101.55 in cash on his possession.”

She said the subsequent search resulted in three more bags of the drug being found with a combined value of £50.

The court heard that Campbell’s mobile phone was seized and various text messages were found from that month indicating transactions involving Ketamine.

Sheriff Andrew Miller deferred sentence until next month for the preparation of reports and Campbell’s lawyer, Robert Sutherland, will speak in mitigation at that time.
