The story of National Dog Day, according to Twitter

Dogs and their owners enjoyed a day of festivities yesterday as National Dog Day was celebrated worldwide.

Those joining in on the fun took to social media to show their appreciation for pups, giving those who didn’t take part an insight to how the annual event unfolded.

As the Tweets below suggest, there was westie-themed cupcakes, cute high-fives, and of course the obligatory dog-selfie.

How many days until next year’s celebrations?
