Ruffels, one of many old haunts in Aberdeen
Ruffels, one of many old haunts in Aberdeen

It’s Wednesday, it’s halfway to the weekend, and that can only mean one thing – pub o’clock is imminent.

Last week’s collection of Aberdeen pubs and clubs from the 80s only scraped the surface of past watering holes, and so a sequel was more than apt.

From Ruffels to Studio 30, here’s seven more pubs you went to in the 80s that aren’t there anymore.

1) Churchills, Crown Street

1540_001Churchills pulled its first pint in the early 80s and served as a popular Friday night hang-out.

2) Ruffels, Diamond Street

1543_001Ruffels Silhouette Bar featured portraits Twiggy, Marilyn Monroe for punters to admire while enjoying their drink.

3) Joey Harper’s, Union Street

joey harper's A spilt-level bar with a more intimate atmosphere than most, Joey Harper’s is much-missed.

4) Harriet Street Bar, Harriet Street

5) Studio 30, Bridge Street

6) Nile Wine Bar, Union Street

7) Cupids, Union Street
