A leading north-east window blind specialist has been recognised with a top industry award for its work on a landmark new office development.

Blind Solutions, which is based in Aberdeen, was the Scottish winner of the Best Project Award, presented by blind manufacturer, Silent Gliss, to the firms they felt made the most creative use of their products.
The company was recognised for its work on the new headquarters of a major oil and gas firm within the Prime Four development at Kingswells, on the western outskirts of Aberdeen.

The firm was contracted to install almost 400 blinds to ensure the building was optimally shaded, drafting in the use of cherry pickers and scaffolding to secure the window fittings in place 18 metres above the ground.

Operations manager, Elton Cruickshank, said: “We are extremely proud to have won this award, which is one of the most prestigious in our industry
“Earning this sort of recognition will help present our ability to deliver large projects for global corporations and we are grateful to the judging panel for choosing us as a winner.

“This is an exciting time for Blind Solutions as we continue to secure large, high-profile corporate jobs and prepare to branch out into the domestic market in the north-east of Scotland.
“The Silent Gliss Best Projects Competition represents the very best in the window-treatment industry and is a forum to share and contrast projects, showing different styles and approaches”.

Sam Shervill, marketing manager at Silent Gliss, said: “Yet again we were stunned by the standard of entries into the latest Silent Gliss Best Project Competition.
“The Aberdeen contract was a major project for us and the customer was delighted with the professional way it was managed and installed by Blind Solutions.”
