Fifty Shades Of Grey

Erotic romance story Fifty Shades of Grey has been dubbed as one of the most boring things about modern life in Britain.

According to a new survey, the best-selling novel and motion picture is considered to “bore Brits to tears” alongside political broadcasts and train delays.

The study which quizzed 2,000 adults about what causes them to nod off revealed a list of the 50 most mind-numbingly dull people, places and things people in the UK face in everyday life.

The topical winner was political broadcasts with 50% of respondents not being to enthralled by them ahead of the General Election.

Being kept on hold during calls and Post Office queues came in at number two and three while other contenders included train delays, darts, shopping channels, ad breaks, Fifty Shades of Grey and filing tax returns.

Mark Walters, managing director of Interparcel which spearheaded the study, said the results suggested Brits become bored very easily.

He added: ‘”It seems our general impatience is a common cause for boredom nationwide and that suggests our free time is very precious.

‘’And we all have different boredom triggers – many often find themselves restless and looking for things to do, while others relish their free time.”
