A crewman aboard a cruise liner moored in Tobermory Bay was airlifted to hospital this evening.
A spokesman for Stornoway Coastguard said they sent Tobermory Lifeboat to get the man from the Azores at 6.07pm.
He was taken to the shore at Tobermory and later transferred by helicopter to hospital.
The spokesman said: “The Azores requested the emergency medical evacuation of a 47-year-old crewman. Tobermory Lifeboat evacuated him from the ship to Tobermory. He was then airlifted and taken to hospital by heli-med.
“His condition is not known.”
