A man has appeared in court accused of attempted murder in connection with a road crash involving an electric motorbike.
We previously reported that the incident happened at about 9pm on Saturday on Cattofield Place in Aberdeen and also involved a car.
Emergency services attended and a 22-year-old man who was riding the motorbike was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
Police described his condition as “critical but stable”.
Following the incident, Sinem Aktas appeared in private at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Monday.
The 28-year-old, whose address is listed as Aberdeen on court papers, faces two charges.
Two allegations
Charge one is one of assault to severe injury, permanent disfigurement, impairment, danger to life and attempted murder.
Charge two is one of dangerous driving.
Aktas did not enter a plea.
He was committed for further examination and released on bail.
Court officials are still to fix a date for the next hearing.
As a result of the crash, the road did not reopen until 2.30pm on Sunday.
A large part of Back Hilton Road – at its junctions with Carnie Drive, Cattofield Gardens, Cattofield Place and the Six Roads Roundabout – was cordoned off by police.
