A man has been arrested after a cannabis farm was discovered above a High Street cafe in Fraserburgh.
Police are conducting inquiries into the cultivation which was discovered above the Broch’s Cafe Arina at 2.15pm on Friday June 4.
Officers attended the property and arrested a 44-year-old man, but he has been released pending further enquiries.
A police car could be seen on the street on Friday throughout the day.
Inquiries into the discovery remain ongoing.
A police spokesperson said: “Around 2.15pm on Friday, July 4, officers were called to attend a property in the High Street area of Fraserburgh.
“A cannabis cultivation was discovered within and enquiries remain ongoing.
“A 44-year-old man was arrested in connection and released pending further inquiries.”
Fraserburgh cafe closes following discovery of cannabis farm
The bust was carried out above Cafe Arina.
Following the discovery, the Fraserburgh cafe issued a public statement which told customers the business would close temporarily.
It reads: “Sorry for any inconvenience but Cafe Arina will be closed for the next week and reopened under new management and a new name.
“This is due to a cannabis farm being discovered above us.
“We will be keeping all the same staff and our amazing chef.”
