Exchange Communications is celebrating its status as Scotland’s only independent Platinum Enterprise accredited specialist in Avaya communications products.

This coincides with the announcement that the business is expanding its Aberdeen office, recruiting a number of sales staff to meet increasing demand in the North East.

Exchange is a full-service telecommunications firm, supplying equipment and expertise to a number of leading locally-headquartered businesses including Global Energy Group, Craig Group and cosmetic dentistry company Fergus & Glover.

It is the only company in the UK to have Avaya Platinum, Avaya Service Expert and Avaya Customer Excellence status – all of which ensure customers have the best experience, and support at the most competitive prices.

It offers everything from initial consultation services to after-care maintenance, with the capability to install a wide range of telephone systems varying from the most basic office handset to highly-complex set-ups for call centres.

Avaya Platinum Enterprise accreditation means Exchange provides its global customers with solutions built on any element of the Avaya portfolio and supports them with accredited engineers.

To achieve this status, Exchange Communications undertook an intensive programme of training for its engineering staff to ensure they are fully qualified to support every Avaya product.

The outcome for Exchange’s customers in Scotland is one which cuts costs, and allows all installation and on-going maintenance to be carried out by local engineers, often at short notice, rather than having to use contractors.

Avaya Platinum partners are experts in complex projects, often involving multi-vendor integration for large organisations and working across a wide geographic area.

In addition, to qualify as an Avaya Service Expert, companies must exhibit enhanced proficiency and expertise in the sales and services delivery of Avaya IP office.

Exchange currently exports telecommunications equipment and expertise to 105 different countries on every continent, trading in 15 different currencies.

The company is celebrating its 25th birthday this year and counts global names such as Hasbro, Experian and Thermo Fisher amongst its international customers. However the firm’s client portfolio is extremely diverse, across sectors, geography and size.

Tom Sime, Exchange Communications’ founder and managing director, said: “Being Scotland’s only independent Avaya Platinum Enterprise accredited partner is certainly a feather in our cap. It has had a really positive impact upon the business and is a major contributing factor towards the need to expand our Aberdeen office.

“Increasingly we are seeing Avaya partnerships as a deal-breaker for customers when choosing communications supplier, reassuring confidence in the service which will be delivered before, during and after installation.

“With 25 years’ experience in the sector we are without a doubt at the forefront of the market, not just in Scotland but in every corner of the world.

“Our message to businesses looking for any advice in relation to their telecommunications set-up would be to get in touch with our highly experienced sales team who will be able to establish a solution which matches with your company’s needs.

“We have worked extremely hard to earn Avaya Platinum Enterprise partner status, which will be reflected in the support received and money saved after choosing to do business with us.”
