Low-budget airline Ryanair has today announced a new sunshine destination set to fly out from Aberdeen Airport.
A new twice-weekly route to Faro, in Portugal, will be available to north-east holidaymakers as early as Summer, next year.
The airline has already announced flights to Alicante and Malaga flying from Aberdeen from 2017.
The package of new destinations is expected to deliver some 75,000 new customers to the airport each year.
Ryanair’s head of communications, Robin Kiely, said: “We are pleased to extend our Aberdeen summer 2017 schedule with a new route to Faro, which will operate twice weekly in addition to our other new routes to Alicante and Malaga.”
Carol Benzie, managing director of Aberdeen International Airport said: “As the main point of entry to southern Portugal and the stunning Algarve region, Faro has long been a popular destination with holidaymakers in Aberdeen.”
