This is the moment an adorable fox carefully plucked a ‘bauble’ from an outdoor Christmas tree decorated by north-east schoolchildren.
Pupils from Craigievar Primary School, Alford, donned the outdoor tree with edible decorations as a gift to wildlife living in the woods by Craigievar Castle.
The children have a regular forest school in the grounds of the castle provided the National Trust for Scotland and assisted the North East Ranger Service.
Before Christmas each year, they decorate a tree in the grounds with treats for the wildlife and make woodland crafts.
This year’s display has proved a popular attraction for local animals and cameras caught one very inquisitive fox pulling a decoration from the tree.
The footage, posted to the North East Ranger Service Facebook page yesterday afternoon, has already attracted thousands of views.
In an accompanying post, the Service wrote: “Craigievar Primary School have done it again!
“The children decorated a Christmas tree in the woods at Craigievar Castle to give something back to the wildlife in the forest before Christmas and it has been very popular! Well done to them.”
