An investigation has begun into a huge blaze at an Aberdeen home which took scores of firefighters to get under control.
At its height, there were 46 people tackling flames at the terraced house on Watchman Brae in the Bucksburn area of the city on Saturday.
The fire broke out just after 11am, with crews taking around two hours to extinguish it.
Initially, four appliances were sent to the scene, with a further six dispatched after it was discovered the flames had spread throughout the ground and first floor of the property.
Engines were called in from across the north-east including Anderson Drive, Altens, Ellon, Inverurie, Kintore and Stonehaven.
A command support unit and an incident support vehicle were also required, with crews needing breathing apparatus due to the thick, black plumes of smoke which were pouring from the building.
The owner of the house was evacuated safely, while the neighbouring properties were unaffected.
However SSE and SGN did isolate the gas and electricity supplies to the property as a precaution.
While the ambulance service was also present at the scene, it is not thought that anyone was seriously hurt in the incident.
Firefighters managed to get the blaze until control at around 1.10pm, while a smaller crew remained at the scene for several hours afterwards.
Yesterday police and fire investigation officers were seen at the house beginning their inquiries into how the blaze broke out.
Work was also underway to board up the property’s windows – the majority of which had been smashed by the fire.
Blackened debris could be seen in the front garden, while part of the house’s gutter appeared to have melted in the heat.
A fire service spokesman said: “The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was alerted at 10.59am on Saturday, February 10 to reports of a dwelling fire.
“Operations Control mobilised 10 fire appliances to the two-storey property on Watchman Brae, Bucksburn, Aberdeen, where firefighters extinguished the fire.
“There are no casualties.”
