Emergency services are at the scene of a two-vehicle crash on the A90, approximately one mile south of Hatton.
Police were called to the incident, which involved a silver Toyota Yaris and silver VW Touran, at 11.50am.
Hydraulic cutting equipment and a spinal board is being used to free two people trapped in each of the vehicles.
A police spokeswoman said: “We are at the scene of a two-vehicle road traffic collision on the A90.
“Fire crews and ambulance are also in attendance”.
A fire service spokeswoman said that one person has now been released from their vehicle.
It is not known if there are any injuries.
The road is currently closed in both directions.
