Two men and a teenage boy charged in connection with thefts of motorcycles and cars in Aberdeen

A police vehicle.
Police have closed the road.

Two men aged 48 and 20 have been charged in relation to the theft of several motorcycles in Aberdeen.

They have been charged in relation to the alleged theft and attempted theft of the bikes from a number of streets in the city including Kintore Place, Hill Street, St Peter Street, Don Street and Marischal Court as well as alleged road traffic offences during December 2018.

A 16 year old boy has also been charged in relation to the break in to a property in the Bridge of Don area of Aberdeen and theft of three cars in August. He is also due to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court today.

Detective Sergeant Andy Machray said: “Extensive enquiries have been carried out following the report of the theft of these vehicles.

“I would like to thank members the public who have assisted us with our enquiries but I would urge residents to remain vigilant. If you see something suspicious in your neighbourhood please report it to police on 101 with as much information as you can including any descriptions of people or vehicles you do not recognise.”

He added: “High visibility patrols will remain in place and I would again urge the public to ensure that their doors and windows are locked at all times including when they are at home. Do not leave valuables in your cars and ensure that your property is secured.

“If you do have a motorcycle, moped or bike and are not using it through the winter please ensure it is properly secured and stored away in a shed or garage that is also locked if possible. If you are using this method of transport regularly then please consider what you can do to improve security such as an alarm or suitable lock or chain.”
