A former North Sea oil executive has taken over a popular pub and restaurant in Aberdeen.
Alistair Dornan , who has spent more than 30 years in the energy industry, has teamed up with publican Simon Cruickshank to acquire The Ploughman in Peterculter.
The venue has been sold by husband and wife Graeme and Shirley Wight who have decided to retire after 33 years running the establishment, which is known for its traditional Scottish fayre.
