A man has appeared in court in connection with an alleged ATM raid.
The cash machine at Scotmid on Craigour Road, Torphins was targeted on February 28 at about 1.30pm.
A forklift was used to ram the front entrance to the shop, giving access to the machine.
Yesterday, Michael Broomfield appeared in private facing charges of stealing a vehicle, two charges of house-breaking and the attempted theft of a vehicle.
The 32-year-old made no plea or declaration during the brief hearing at Aberdeen Sheriff Court.
A 26-year old man was released pending further inquiries.
Broomfield, from County Durham, was remanded in custody and the case continued for further examination.
