Plans to produce sustainable timber from an Aberdeenshire forest will go out to consultation next week.
The drop-in session on the future of Clashindarroach Forest is being hosted by Forestry and Land Scotland.
It is as part of a consultation on the draft land management plan for the woodland, south-west of Huntly.
Interested parties are being invited to submit their ideas and thoughts on a wide range of possibilities for the forest at Huntly’s Stewarts Hall between 1pm-6.30pm on Wednesday.
The plan also covers Brown Hill and the Darroch Wids sites of Coynachie, Merdrum and Black Middens, as well as Ittingstone, Culdrain and Mains of Lesmore.
On top of production of a sustainable quality crop of timber, the plan also addresses outlines what action will be taken to improve biodiversity, restore non-forest habitats, create woodland and the management of existing recreational facilities.
Mark Reeve, from Forestry and Land Scotland, said: “The plan will determine how we manage Clashindarroch and surrounding woodlands over the next 10 years.
“Knowing how much local people and visitors to the area love these forests, we want to make sure that we take into account as many views as possible before we finalise our plans.”
A consultation runs until August 16.
Plans can be viewed and commented upon on the Forestry and Land Scotland website.
