A multicultural family event which celebrates cultural diversity in Aberdeen will return to the city this Sunday.

Aberdeen Mela’s One World Day takes place at Westburn Park.

The event is returning for its fourth year with national performers such as Guru Soundz from London and the Glaswegian Desi Bravehearts.

Dr Narayan Shrestha, Aberdeen Multicultural Centre’s project manager said: “Aberdeen Mela – One World Day is one of the unique events in the north-east of Scotland where you can enjoy amazing world-class music, dance, international cuisine, children’s entertainment and receive a great variety of public sector information in one place, as a family day out.

“Events like this are a good opportunity for us to showcase multicultural celebration and promote very good relationship and understanding between people from different cultural backgrounds.”

Paul Bush OBE, VisitScotland’s director of events, said: “We are delighted to be supporting the Aberdeen Mela.

“We look forward to celebrating the diversity and all the communities in the north east and beyond that help to make Scotland the perfect stage for such events.”

Entry to the event is free, and to find out more, go to www.melaaberdeen.org.uk
