Police are hunting two men after a pair of suspicious fires in Aberdeen city centre in the early hours of this morning.
Emergency services were first called to Spice Of Asia in John Street at around 1.10am.
A number of bins were ablaze behind the property with flames spreading to a stack of pallets in the yard.
No damage was caused to the former Bank Of Scotland building.
Police said the bins had been “deliberately set alight”.
Communal bins were then set alight in nearby Charlotte Street at around 3.30am.
No one was hurt in either incident, which officers think are linked.
They said two men were seen close to the scene of both fires.
Both are thought to be slim and between the ages of 16 and 24.
The first was of average height with short brown hair and was wearing a dark tracksuit and a woollen bobble hat.
The other was around 6 ft tall with short brown hair and was also wearing a dark tracksuit with his hood up.
Constable Chris Starkie said: “We are investigating the circumstances of the fires and we are treating both incidents as linked.
!I am keen to hear from anyone who saw two men fitting this description or any suspicious behaviour in the Charlotte Street or John Street areas in the early hours of Wednesday morning to come forward.”
