A man has appeared in court after police seized more than £150,000 worth of cannabis in Aberdeen.
Police raided a property in Tillydrone on Wednesday after receiving a tip-off from the public, finding “a large number” of cannabis plants.
Kujdesi Pashkaj was arrested as officers stormed the property in Tedder Street – where they found the haul of the class B drug, worth an estimated £157,000.
The 26-year-old appeared in private at Aberdeen Sheriff Court, charged with being concerned in the production and supply of a controlled drug.
The Albanian, currently living in Glasgow, made no plea and the case was committed for further examination.
He was remanded in custody and will next appear within a week.
Detective Sergeant Scott McKay of the Aberdeen Proactive Unit said: “As a result of information provided by the public and inquiries conducted by local policing officers in Tillydrone, a significant amount of drugs have been seized and removed from circulation.
“This will have a significant impact on those involved in the supply of controlled drugs and those who gain financially from this type of criminality.
“I would encourage anyone who has information relating to those involved in the sale and supply of controlled drugs, or who suspect that a property is being used for drug related crimes, to contact police or Crimestoppers.
He added: “The smallest piece of information provided by the public can be the last piece of the puzzle needed in order for officers to take enforcement action, so no information should be discounted or seen as insignificant.”
