The region’s biggest electronic music event will return to Aberdeen later this year with a packed bill of top local and international acts.

Tickets for Cultivate 2020, at the Boardwalk on the city’s Beach Esplanade, go on sale on Friday.

Acts already confirmed include Helena Hauff, Mella Dee, Kettama, Slam, Optimo, Dance System, Sally C, IDA, Liam Doc and Lisa Loof.

Now in its third year, the full day and night festival takes place on May 9, across three stages.

The Arcade Stage is the largest space and will play host the international acts, while the Pano Bar and outdoor terrace will welcome fans of some of the smaller acts.

Cultivate has proved a huge hit since debuting in the city in 2018.

After seeing the popularity of nights focused around dance music in Aberdeen – including at Unit 51 and Tunnels – and at festivals in Edinburgh, organisers decided to build on their already popular club nights by holding an event at a bigger venue to reach more people.

They have promised a “line-up, production values and arena that are bigger and better than ever before”.

There will be a range of food and pop-up stalls set up throughout the day. Tickets go on sale at 10am on Thursday at www.skiddle.com
