A man who left his former partner fearing for her safety has been handed a non-harassment order.
Paul Watt started a blog and posted “alarming remarks and intimate details” about his ex-girlfriend while already being subject to a previous non-harassment order.
Aberdeen Sheriff Court heard yesterday that Watt had struggled to accept the ending of the relationship.
Th charges against him stated he had caused his ex-partner “fear and alarm” by monitoring her “day to day activities, movements and relationships”.
Fiscal depute Lynne Macvicor said the 33-year-old started a blog and began to post details about his one-time partner after she entered a new relationship.
He wrote about how he was “better looking and better for her” and made reference to previous activities they had done together.
After she got a new car, Watt wrote about how “sometimes people get everything they want” and this “appeared to be about her”.
On January 29, nine days before the non-harassment order was up, he posted on Twitter saying “9 days with a celebration emoji”.
Ms Macvicor added. “This has had a significant impact on her.”
Solicitor Tony Burgess said “he accepts that for him to know the things that he knew, he must have been out there trying to find out.
“As I understand it, none of the remarks were abusive or threatening. He was simply putting his feelings out there.”
Sheriff Margaret Hodge ordered Watt not to contact or approach his ex for two years.
